German designer Sebastian Herkner pays tribute to the art of Japanese ceramics. Named after the traditional Japanese pottery technique, the Raku cordless lamp is compact yet makes a big statement. The hand-sculpted ceramic base is made with a glaze that creates a crackled pattern which varies slightly from piece to piece. Raku celebrates the art of imperfection. From these unique pieces emerges a poetry of material, a mix of strength and softness. The industrial and raw style of the metal lampshade counters the elegant and delicate look of the ceramic base.
